La Hoya ski resort is 13 km from the town of Esquel which is an area that gives shape to a landscape of forests, lakes and cascades of matchless beauty.
La Hoya is 1,350 meters over sea level, and normally is always cold enough to get snow and if not snowmaking is possible here. Its white peaks, which reach 2,150 meters, unfold 60 hectares of skiable land, with large runs for all levels. |

Esquel is on the bank of Arroyo Esquel and near mounts La Zeta, 21, La Cruz, and Nahuel Pan, which form an amphitheatre forested by native species. Around 31.000 people live there and develop a solid cultural movement. The name Esquel has different entries and meanings. One is thistle, and another one is swamp.
The most popular non skiing attraction is to enjoy a magical adventure on the famous narrow gauge train, known as La Trochita, which travels up to El Maitén. |
