Bariloche (Catedral Alta Patagonia Ski Resort)

The historic town of San Carlos de Bariloche is located in the heart of Patagonia in Argentina. Bariloche is a year round tourist destination due to its magnificent charm, culture, lakes, forests, mountains, and of course skiing and snowboarding! The ski resort is now called Cerro Catedral Alta Patagonia and has the most ski history in all of Argentina dating back to 1936. To ski snowboard in Bariloche you go to Cerro Catedral which is about 20 minutes from the downtown of Bariloche.

2006 saw a huge expansion and investment of the resort with new chairlifts and restaurants that is now fully in place in 2008. There are 2 mountains, the old "Los Robles" with "Catedral", interconnected by chairlifts + pomas and 1 lift pass and now one ski resort. This has made this a much better ski and tourist destination and there are plans for even more investment and improvements in infrastructure.

As downtown Bariloche is about a 20 minute drive from the ski resort ground transfers are available by most major hotels and hostels as part as and add on package to the accommodation price, or can be organized in addition to your stay if you are not staying at the base.

Another option is taxis that are not very expensive. There are excellent ski valets at the base of the hill where you can leave boots, skis, boards, poles so do not have to bring all your gear back and forth every day.

Bariloche sets itself apart by offering the largest variety of accommodation and hotel options to fit all budgets and tastes of any ski resort destination in South America.

The only decision in Bariloche is where you want to stay out of the 4 different options. The base of the ski hill at Cerro Catedral, in town, in between town and the ski hill, or in the Llao Llao region past the ski hill and further away from town. The base of the hill is most convenient having ski in ski out, but not that much happens after 6PM around the base.

The actual town of Bariloche is 20 minutes away and convenient for night life, shopping, activities, casino, and a multitude of different kind of restaurants, tea houses and pubs.

The one HUGE advantage of Bariloche over all other ski resorts in South America are the amount of gorgeous, well built, spacious, well equipped, luxurious apartments at the base and downtown.

We rent all type of apartments, cabins and homes in Bariloche at the base, in between the base and downtown, and downtown in the city.

In Bariloche there are also very big homes at the base, outside of town with features such as private beaches and great lake views in the Llao Llao region, and in town as well.

Some of these homes truly are breathtaking and we can easily organize private drivers and vans, personal chefs, massage therapists, Spanish teachers to come to your rental property to make your stay that much easier and enjoyable, hassle free and full service.
